Repair and refurbishment of a grade II listed building which was originally built as a British Sailors Society, sea training establishment in the early 19th Century. Over the years, the property had suffered from insensitive alterations and structural decline. The project restored the building through sensitive refurbishment to create a modern family home.

A central feature of the project was the refurbishment of the original Georgian staircase which had suffered from years of institutional use and was no longer stable without additional support. A solution of two barley twist newel posts was proposed to provide support with minimal interference and maintaining with the graceful sweeping curvature of the stair.
