The pub was acquired by the Draco Pub Company in 2012 and Mackenzie Wheeler were appointed to carry out a full planning and listed building application to sensitively refurbish and upgrade the existing pub.

Unused storage areas at ground and first floors were integrated into the design to increase the trading and customer areas at ground floor and to increase the number of guest rooms at first floor from 5 to 8.
